Interim Exhibition

Every year 4th year students
at Grays Art school hold an
Interim Exhibition.
This stands as a trial run before
degree show and I think I
speak for everyone when I say
IT HAS COME ROUND TOO FAST.......
We were all rushing about trying to
get everything done on time,
just aswell working under pressure is one
thing I can do.
I have took some examples of my work
to show you all.
Exhibited are some examples of
my current work; Ideas for Triumph
brief and their new bra fitting service.
These are just some initial cut outs
from my sketchbooks which I hung with old
bra straps and measuring tape for
some extra meaning.
The thought of graduating can be quite
a scary thought as theres so much
pressure to impress and produce a
vast body of work.
However, I think everyone is secretly
excited to move onto bigger and better things.

Feetandtea present

I decided I wanted to give my feetandtea label a little present from me........................
I had been trying out some logos for my handmade cards that
I am making for STAG pop up shop and made a few collages literally adding some feet and a few cups of tea here and there.
I always find that when it comes to designing for myself I
don't try as hard as I would if I was designing
a piece for a friend or a competition.
I always want to impress other people with my work
and products but have different standards when it comes to myself.

Its given me alot to think about now that I am about to enter into my last year at Grays:

Will I challenge myself more if I am not just doing
a personal project and doing briefs for companies and competitions?

Here are a few little presents to feetandtea label that i might use on my products in the future.
Would love to know what is your favourite!

Blast/Bless Creative Review

The Bride is the most central part of any wedding. Her dress is the spirit of the wedding which is the talking point of the day, the closest she is ever going to get to perfection in her life. My piece is highlighting the reality of a wedding and the importance and beauty of the Bride compared to the groom who is literally beside the point. The Bride is blessed with beauty and magnificence and the groom for all his importance could be blasted to Mars by a little boy in a rocket car who has control over a war plane. The beauty of this reality is that I do not think any Groom would ever change this, as he loves the bride too much to take any of this limelight away from her.
My Piece is done with ink, chalk, gesso transfers and found scraps

Collage

Im posting some personal work. The work i love doing. Putting pieces tgoether from different sources. It some times take me hours just to put these things together, seeing what goes and what doesent. My Assessments are just over so im having a little break from it all but really im not. Still doing little bits and bob including my true passion collage. I am actually trying to source a little bit of new pieces of fabric, scraps, decoupage this is when i miss The Barras in glasgow there used to be this man he had a stall that was full of old French Newspapers, Badges, sent postcards, buttons. This place wasnt a dream. If i won the lottery i would have bought everything from him. He understood just like me that these things are worth something. Others just used to look at me weirdly because i would scrunch up on the floor and just look through all of these things. He had a story for each thing near enough. I feel lucky to have experienced that.
